A much bigger thunderstorm crop popped up across the state today. The storms were fueled by a cold front the pushed east to west across the state. As of this evening widespread storms were getting western and northern sections of the state. Here in the metro area our chance for showers and storms will continue through the night and into early Wednesday morning.
With the heat of the day Wednesday more storm should pop up first over the mountains and then into the valleys in central and western sections. Widespread storms will be likely throughout the rest of the workweek and into the weekend as well.
The one area of the state it’s likely to see very little storm action is the Southeast. It looks like temperatures there remain in the low 90s which is not off the charts hot but we’re also not looking for much in the way of juice to fuel storms.
Models continue to indicate the northern mountains and western sections could see an inch plus accumulated rain over the next week.
