Law enforcement host camp to keep kids off the street

Camp Triumph
Camp Triumph is hosted by Law Enforcement across the state to keep kids off the street.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Several state law enforcement agencies held a crime prevention camp for around 50 kids Tuesday morning at Tingley Beach.

Camp Triumph was created to help keep kids off the street.

Organizers say the campers learn things like gun safety from the National Guard and gang awareness from Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputies.

They are also taught discipline and life skills through a series of outdoor activities.

The camp is funded through U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice.

They host multiple camps throughout the year for more than 200 kids. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
