Explora receives national award, attention

Explora Science Center and Children's Museum

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum in Oldtown is being recognized nationally.

The National Bright Lights Award recognizes facilities that do an outstanding job of engaging the community and Explora got one of only seven nationwide.

You might remember Explora started as a tiny shop in Winrock and quickly became a hit among kids with its hands on learning.

Explora was highlighted for many reasons including its family science nights where families from title one schools learn together and its science classes for homeless families and pueblo schools.
