ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The county clerk is warning voters about some bad information being given out.

People in Bernalillo County have reported being approached by groups outside various businesses, trying to get them to register to vote.

In some cases the people were telling residents they have to re-register every two or five years.

The county clerk says that’s not true and some of these third party registration agents get paid for each person they register.

The only time someone must re-register is if they move or want to change their party. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
