RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Rancho is keeping jobs according to the Rio Rancho Observer.
The newspaper reports the unemployment rate in the city has remained at record-low levels for the last five years.
The Observer reports Rio Rancho now needs fewer than 400 jobs to recover all of the positions that vanished during the recession.
Employment peaked in April 2008, and recently increased by almost 100 jobs to reach more than 37,000 workers earlier this year.
Rio Rancho and the U.S. both had an unemployment rate of 6.3 percent in May.
