ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Talk about a whirlwind of a week for former Lobos ace Austin House. House has been pitching in class high-A for Stockton (Oakland A’s farm club) this season but now finds himself one step away from the show.
House made his debut for the triple-A Athletics affiliate Sacramento last night pitching 2 scoreless innings, striking out one and walking a pair.
“I got the call last night so, just trying to soak it all in, basically enjoy the opportunity the A’s gave me. The thing that you’ve got to remind yourself is that it’s the same game. It’s still 60 feet 6 inches so, it’s the same, it’s the same game so you just got to throw strikes.” says House.
The former La Cueva bear says he’s not sure how long he will be with the Rivercats, however he’s going to make the most of it on the mound.
“You never know, I guess you come up here and pitch well, maybe impress somebody. It’s kind of a waiting game at this time. But for now I am here, I just got to make the best out of every opportunity to get on the mound and show what I am made of.”
