APD arrests 6 at sobriety checkpoints

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) – The Albuquerque Police Department’s DWI unit has made a handful of arrests so far over the holiday weekend.

Authorities say there were five driving while intoxicated arrests and one misdemeanor arrest at a sobriety checkpoint.

The department urges motorists to plan ahead and arrange for a designated sober driver if they plan to drink alcohol over the holiday weekend.
