Farmington adds protections to improve animal welfare


FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Farmington is trying to better protect its pet population.

The idea is to improve animal welfare by adding more animal protections.

According to the Albuquerque Journal the changes will be discussed next week.

Some proposed changes include higher fines for animal cruelty as well as fines when people fail to register their pets.

There are also restrictions proposed for people breeding animals.
