Chris’ 4th of July Afternoon Forecast

Heavy rain pounded much of Albuquerque Thursday night and many areas picked up a .50″ or more with the West Mesa being the biggest winner.  That is where 0.76″ of rain fell.  This morning most areas are dry with just some light spotty showers leftover in the southwest corner of the state.

If you are heading out to the enjoy the 4th of July today it will be quiet to start.   But, by the afternoon the chance for hit and miss storms will fire.   Most of the action will be in the Northern Mountains and in Western New Mexico.   There’s only a small chance for a pop-up storm in Albuquerque this evening.   So just keep your eye to the sky as you head out to celebrate the 4th!
