Pilot in critical condition after Las Vegas crash

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – A small plane crashed at the airport in Las Vegas, N.M.. around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Las Vegas Daily Optic reports the city’s police chief Christian Montaño says there were four people in the plane.

The pilot, James Fretham, is in critical condition and three other passengers were treated and released from the hospital.

Police say the plane flew from Iowa and was trying to land in Las Vegas.

The FAA arrived Thursday to investigate the crash.
