Albuquerque Zoo welcomes baby flamingos

Baby flamingos
Two new baby flamingos were born at the Albuquerque zoo.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There are two new additions at the Rio Grande Zoo, baby flamingos.

The zoo only breeds the birds every few years.

The new additions don’t have that bright pink color just yet. That’s because they mostly get the color from the food they eat which includes brine shrimp.

The babies will meet the flock in the next few weeks but it could be a while before they are on exhibit.
