ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The high fire danger is a huge concern for the Fourth of July.
So instead of buying your own, the City of Albuquerque is encouraging you to attend public fireworks display.
They say the city sponsored Freedom 4th event and the fireworks display at Isotopes Park are examples of high quality fireworks that are safe.
But if you do buy fireworks, fire officials say to be make sure they are legal within the city limits.
If the fireworks label says “warning,” they are illegal within the city limits.
If they say “caution,” they are approved for use.
Fire officials also want you to pay attention to the weather.
Officials say Thursday through Saturday the fireworks hotline will be available from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
