APD officers to vote on new contract

APD, raise

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – After three years of negotiating with the city, Albuquerque police officers will vote on a new contract.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, the contract includes a 5 percent pay increase for officers.

City Council President Ken Sanchez calls it a reinstatement rather than a raise.

Officers took a pay cut in 2010, and didn’t get their pay raise that had been previously negotiated.

The cost of the proposed raises to city taxpayers is $3.8 million.
