ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Monday night and early Tuesday morning, residents in Santa Fe and Albuquerque could see and smell smoke from the Diego Fire burning miles away.

Because of that, the city of Albuquerque’s Environmental Health Department issued an air quality alert, which is now canceled due to helpful winds dispersing smoke through Central New Mexico. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
