City offers alternatives to beat traffic for Freedom 4th

Paseo/I-25 project

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque’s big Freedom Fourth celebration is right around the corner and the city is urging residents to plan ahead.

People can expect delays getting to and from Balloon Fiesta Park on the fourth because of the ongoing Paseo Del Norte construction project.

Officials have been planning the best ways to get everyone to the park since November.

The best solution and their number one suggestion to getting there?

“Our main push is to actually to encourage everyone who wants to attend to utilize the city’s park-and-ride services. That is going to be the easiest way to get in and get out it’s going to be the least amount of traffic, the least amount of waiting, so we are definitely pushing the park and ride,” Eric Werner, events and operations City of ABQ said.

Park-and-ride services cost $1.

Those who plan to drive themselves should expect delays.
