Santa Fe’s People to the Plaza proposal passes

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales’ People to the Plaza proposal was met with unanimous approval by the City Council on Wednesday.

Now, West San Francisco Street will be the only street bordering the downtown plaza park left open to traffic during the summer. The plan will be implemented as soon as possible this year and will stay in effect through Sept. 8.

Gonzales introduced the plan to close all the streets surrounding the plaza in April with the goal of bringing more people to the plaza. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
