Plan to revitalize 4th Street underway

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A new plan to revitalize the north Fourth Street area is underway in a move to bring in more jobs and new housing options.

Tuesday night the Bernalillo County Commission voted unanimously to join forces with the City of Albuquerque on a proposed plan to develop both workforce housing and commercial development in the area.

The plan would give the project $200,000 to help with construction.

The city will also fork over $1.2 million towards the project from workforce housing trust funds.

The first phase will involve tearing down old buildings and purchasing the land.
