GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – Crews should have the Asayii Fire on the Navajo Nation fully contained soon.

It’s scorched 23 square miles of forest and rangeland north of Gallup along the New Mexico-Arizona stateline.

Right now, it’s 80 percent contained.

Crews continue patrolling the area, securing fire lines, dousing hot spots and clearing debris.
