DJ Peterson gets promotion, All-Star trip

JACKSON, TN (KRQE) – DJ Peterson just got a double dose of good news.

The Seattle Mariners announced that the former Lobo has earned a promotion from High Desert Mavericks to the Jackson Generals, the Mariners’ AA affiliate.

Peterson batted .326 and hit 18 home runs with High Desert, but has been especially hot at the plate lately. He was second in the California League in home runs.

“Thank you to all the High Desert fans it has been [an] honor. Excited to be joining Jackson tomorrow!! #blessed,” Peterson wrote on his Twitter account.

On top of that, Peterson will get a trip to Minnesota for MLB All-Star Weekend. Peterson is one of two Mariners prospects who will play in the SiriusXM Futures Game two days before the All-Star Game itself. He’ll represent Team USA in the game.
