Transfer Tim Williams picks Lobos

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Lobos lost a lot of players off of last year’s squad, but Coach Craig Neal has wasted no time reloading his team.

Now a full stock of players has another addition.

Samford forward Tim Williams has committed to transfer to UNM.

The 6’8″ 210 pound Chicago sophomore had a solid first year with Samford, finishing as Southern Conference freshman of the year. Williams averaged nearly 18 points and more than 7 rebounds.

Because of NCAA rules, Williams will have to sit out a season before suiting up for the Lobos.

Williams joins another transfer, Elijah Brown, and five other recruits. Williams commitment would put UNM at 13 scholarship players, one above what they’re allowed. Neal will have a couple of months to sort that situation out.
