New music app created in ABQ

Bandojo app

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A new music app that was created in Albuquerque is really striking a chord.

Bandojo was created by Travis Kellerman and Professor Panaiotis, a UNM professor and one-name composer.

The app allows anyone, even if you don’t have a music background, to create music.

All you have to do is choose a background accompaniment and an instrument, and then you combine the two to create a harmony.

There’s also a group play function which allows you to sync different devices with other users to play together.

The creators are now working with schools and disability organizations to use the app as a teaching tool.

“We’re really proud to be here in Albuquerque, to be operating here, to build a team here, a company and use this new technology and engage people from all over the world right from here in Albuquerque” Kellerman said.

You can now get the Bandojo app on iPad or iPhone for $2.99. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
