ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The widow of a Native American activist, Russell Means, is suing doctors and medical centers in Santa Fe and Las Vegas, New Mexico, accusing them of overlooking his cancer.

Pearl Means filed the lawsuit claiming the doctors who worked at the clinics, owned by Christus Saint Vincent Regional Medical Center, ignored his symptoms.

Means then got a second opinion from doctors at UCLA where he was diagnosed with cancer.

The hospital says the New Mexico medical review commission did not find evidence of negligence

Means, who was also an actor and musician, died in 2012.
