John’s Friday Afternoon Forecast

Today will be very similar to yesterday with our best storm chances across the east. Some of these storms could be strong to severe and produce gusty winds. However, winds will not be a problem overall across the state. This is good news across the west where fires continue to be fought.

Over the weekend, storm chances continue to favor primarily areas east of the central mountain chain. Spot storms across central New Mexico are looking less likely. Temperatures will also be warming over the weekend to above average.

Early next week, moisture finally tries to surge into central sections. This will expand storm chances to the Rio Grande Valley, central mountain chain, and east. After a hot weekend, temps will also come down for early next week. Expect breezy to occasionally windy conditions, with the highest winds across the east.
