Stolen artwork Santa Fe

SANTA FE (KRQE) – There has been another crime involving a piece of artwork in Santa Fe.

This time it happened at the Eldorado Hotel.

The theft was reported on Tuesday and is valued at about $3,000.

Then on Monday, someone vandalized a pricey outdoor piece at the Peyton Wright Gallery which is valued at nearly $1 million.

Both of these crimes follow the recent vandalism of a metal burro sculpture.

The tail was stolen last month and it cost the City of Santa Fe $4,000 to replace the tail, repair three hooves and remove graffiti. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
