Mark’s Thursday Evening Weather Report

After a limited crop of thunderstorms today we will see a slight increase in moisture across the state heading into the weekend. The best storm chances remain across the eastern third of New Mexico through Saturday. Some strong thunderstorms be possible in the east as well with large hail and gusty winds. The best shot for showers in the metro looks like it will hold off until the beginning of next week.

Mid to late next week does show some more promise for picking up widespread storms more on that as we get closer.

The long range forecast is now out for the summer and winter and it looks very very good. With a strong El Niño setting up we should do well for rain and snow across the whole state. Here’s a look at the outlook starting in the fall.
