Hobbs bans more Spice chemicals

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials in Hobbs have banned more chemicals used in the synthetic drug known as Spice.

City commissioners voted this week to ad 12 new compounds of the synthetic marijuana to the list of 32 chemical compounds already banned within the city limits.

The synthetic drug is being sold illegally at smoke shops across Hobbs and police have been waging a war against the sellers of this new drug for more than a year.

They say unfortunately the drug makers often stay ahead of them by constantly changing the ingredients to skirt the law.
