ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Another APD protest is planned for this Saturday and the police department says it’s working with organizers to make sure it is peaceful.

Protesters have been demonstrating against officer involved shootings at APD.

Saturday’s rally is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Roosevelt Park.

Fliers encouraging people to protest have been posted all over the metro.

It’s being touted as a family-friendly non-violent event.

APD Chief Gorden Eden said the department has been in contact with protest organizers.

He says APD will be providing traffic escorts for marchers and that more officers will be on call in case they’re needed.

Over the last few months, protesters have marched along Central and downtown.

Back in March APD used tear gas to disperse a rowdy crowd.
