ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman says she couldn’t believe what she saw inside a bag of just-opened potato chips. It’s pretty gross, and now she could be getting a lawyer.
Maria Sanchez was cooking dinner Tuesday night when her 3-year-old son opened a bag of Frito-Lay Classic Potato Chips.
“When I lifted up the chips, the odor came to me,” Sanchez said.
That bag of chips is now on ice. Sanchez says when she started digging around what she found wasn’t very fresh.
“At first I saw the tail, something black,” Sanchez said. “Then I opened it a little bit more and I saw it more, and that’s when I told my brother, my husband, there’s a rat or something in the chips.”
Sanchez says the bag was in perfect condition when she bought it at a grocery store last weekend.
Sanchez says she has been in contact with an attorney.
A representative for Frito-Lay says they’re looking into the matter, but can’t say more at this time.
In 2007 a Montana man found a dead mouse in a bag of Frito-Lay potato chips. The company and the state’s health department later determined the mouse burrowed its way into the bag after it had left the factory.
