Fire threat remains high again today although Red Flag Warnings for the state of NM have been dropped.  It will be windy and warm today with highs near 87°, winds near the metro area will be SW 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.  The Northwestern corner of the state will again see some of the strongest winds.  They will be blowing SW 20-30mph with gusts as high as 40 mph.  These high winds will not help the fire containment attempts near Gallup again today. Also, isolated storms will also be possible today.  The best chance for wet storms will be in the Eastern Plains and the Northern Mountains, but a few drops of rain can’t be ruled out for the metro area.   Dry thunderstorms will also develop near the metro area and areas west.
