Casting call for ‘Johnny’ set to begin

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There’s a casting call for a new film being shot in Albuquerque based on the life of legendary boxer Johnny Tapia.

Filming for Johnny starts next month.

The film crew is looking to hire cast members including Hispanic boys ages two and seven to portray young Johnny. As well as Hispanic men in their 60s and 70s to play Johnny’s grandfather.

Hispanic men and women ages 18 to 24 are needed for other speaking roles.

The gig pays $500 a day.
