ABQ school cleared to buy historic US building

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Amy Biehl High School can now buy the U.S. Post Office building in downtown Albuquerque it’s been using since 2006.

The charter school had been leasing the building from the federal government and has invested more than $3 million in renovations to fit its needs.

The post office was built in 1908 and is listed on the U.S. Register of historic places.

The authorization for the school to buy the building came in the form of a bill passed by the U.S. house on Tuesday.
