Mark’s Tuesday Evening Weather Report

After a relatively small crop of storms today that produced as much wind as rain we are looking at another at storms Wednesday. In fact, moisture looks a little more promising so the storms may be a bit more widespread. Highs will top out in the high 80’s. Winds will come down a bit but it still looks like winds will be at least breezy to windy. By Thursday winds will show significant improvement and therefor fire weather should improve as well.

Both Thursday and Friday look like lean storm days with mostly sunny skies. On the positive side of this there will be fewer dry lightning strikes in central and western sections. By the weekend it does look like the moisture levels will head back up and more widespread storms will be possible.

Below is the 7-14 day outlook. It does look like the east will see an increasingly wet setup with cool temps. This jives very well with a looming El Nino. In years where strong El Nino’s set up we tend to see the east get wet first. That appears to be happening. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
