Mark’s Monday Evening Weather Report

We are entering into what is going to be a very difficult fire Weather stretch of the next couple of days. With the fire in the western mountains continuing to rage winds tomorrow will hit 40+ miles an hour. This will make life very difficult for firefighters. Those winds are likely to stay a major factor into Wednesday as well.

There will be some additional moisture creeping into the state both Tuesday and Wednesday. However this could complicate things fire wise too. The additional moisture may be just enough to touch off some isolated dry storms and lead to more fire starts. There is no doubt that this is a very difficult stretch for us to try to avoid more big time forest fires.

We are likely to dry out by the end of the workweek with no real risk of much shower activity. But then over the weekend models the diverge greatly on what’s going to happen. There is some indication more juice may slide up from the south. This juice could lead to widespread storms over the weekend. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
