ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – After a tough pair of games in the middle of their four game set against the New Orleans Zephyrs, the Albuquerque Isotope bats came to life Monday.

Isotopes starter Carlos Frias gave up one run in the top of the first before shutting down the Zephyrs the rest of the way in his eight inning outing.

A four run first inning from the Isotopes was just the start. They rattled off 11 straight, including a two run homer in the second inning from catcher Tim Federowicz.

The win ends Albuquerque’s eight game home stand. The Isotopes head to Omaha next for four games against the Royals AAA affiliate. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
