Crews work to contain East Fork Fire

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Firefighters continue to battle the East Fork Fire which was reported Saturday about three miles northeast the Jemez Mountains.

Officials say the blaze, which is burning about 2.4 acres, was caused by lightning.

For now, Forest Service Trail #137 has been closed.

Currently, one engine crew, one hot shot crew and additional support are fighting the flames, according to Santa Fe National Forest officials. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
