Bowl Fire in western NM contained

QUEMADO, N.M. (KRQE) – A fired that sparked Saturday near the Fox Mountain Lookout in the Gila National Forest has been contained, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The 10-acre fire was caused by lightning and burned two and a half miles northeast of Quemado Lake.

One hot shot crew, two helicopters and two air tankers fought the blaze. Firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots and ensure fire lines are secure.
