Alamogordo gets grant to restore lake

ALAMOGORDO (KRQE) – Alamogordo is getting millions of dollars to help restore a lake.

New Mexico senators announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency will give the city more than $6 million in a grant.

In 2012, the Little Bear Fire left burn scars.

Monsoon rains caused runoff into Bonito Lake.

The grant will help clear out debris and sediment that flowed into the lake.
