After a very windy Saturday afternoon, expect some relief from the wind for Sunday. However, winds are still expected to be breezy as a southwesterly flow persists across the state. Fire danger will remain high Sunday and Monday with hot, breezy, and dry conditions.
Tuesday we have the opportunity to squeeze out a couple of storms, but don’t get your hopes up too high. Models have been trending drier for the southerly moisture tap. This is not good for fire concerns, as some storms may be capable of producing dry lightning Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Temperatures cool some across the east by Thursday and Friday. While the cool down will not be enough to bring relief from the heat completely, the southeast will get a much needed break from the triple digit heat.
