SFPD swears in new chief

Santa Fe Police Chief Eric Garcia

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe swore in it’s new police chief Friday.

Eric Garcia, who was Director of Public Safety in Española, will now lead the department.

Garcia replaces former Chief Ray Rael who retired in March.

Garcia has 24 years of law enforcement experience, including 18 with New Mexico State Police.

His first day on the job is Monday.
