It will be warm and breezy statewide today with highs in the 80s and 90s. Winds will be out of the SW 20-30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. These high winds will elevate our fire concerns. A large portion of New Mexico has been placed under either a Red Flag Warning or Fire Weather Watch. Winds and fire concerns won’t be our only issues today. We’re also tracking the chance for scattered thunderstorms. Western NM will have mainly dry thunderstorms and Eastern NM will have mainly wet thunderstorms with the chance for some of these storms turning severe this evening.
