APD officer saves woman with 9 stab wounds

APD officers at ABQ motel

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque police officer saved a woman who had just been stabbed nine times.

It happened Thursday morning at the Mountain View Inn near I-40 and Central.

A motel employee flagged down the officer to report the attack.

That’s when the victim then walked around the corner and collapsed in front of the patrol car.

APS says the officer applied two tourniquets to her arm.

Other officers then searched for a suspect and found 33-year old Freddy Granger covered in blood.

He was arrested and charged with kidnapping and attempted murder.
