FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – First a dog, now a goat has been found decapitated.
What else has been done to them is even more disturbing.
Animal Protection of New Mexico says a man who lives just outside of Farmington found one of his young goats decapitated on his property June 1st.
Last month, near the same area, a seven-month old puppy named Boo was found with his head also cut off.
Deputies say in both cases the head had been cleanly removed, no blood was found in the area, and both heads are still missing.
The goat’s organs had also been removed.
Investigators say it looks like the dog had been tied up by his legs.
Animal Protection of New Mexico is offering an $8,000 reward for tips.
You can call the Animal Cruelty Hotline at 877-5-HUMANE.
The San Juan County Sheriff’s office is also investigating.
Extreme animal cruelty is a felony.
