Autopsy results indicate suspect shot himself

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Medical investigators say the man who shot at an APD dog in March, shot and killed himself.

The OMI report says 56-year-old Dale Lusian shot himself in the chest.

APD was responding to a call about a suspected thief inside a large industrial park in the far northeast heights. When officers arrived they sent K-9 Rico to search for the suspect.

APD says the suspect opened fire hitting Rico three times.

Then police found Lusian dead.

Rico survived and is recovering.
