ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Tuesday, a student fired a gun at a school in Oregon, killing one student and injuring a teacher. The shooter is also dead. Similar stories have played out 74 times since the Sandy Hook massacre in December 2012 that left 20 children and six staff members dead.

While students and faculty have not always been killed or injured in every school shooting in the last 18 months, the map below shows the schools where shots have been fired on school grounds. That includes shootings resulting in death, suicide, wounded victims and unintentional shootings. Minors were responsible for 70 percent of the K-12 school shootings.

In New Mexico, two school shootings have taken place since the Sandy Hook massacre, one at Berrendo Middle School in January where two students were injured, and one at Eastern New Mexico University in April where a student was shot and killed in his dorm room.
