SFPD citing people who leave pets in vehicles


SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe Police have cited several people for leaving their pets locked up in their hot cars.

Police say since June 1, they have received calls daily from people reporting dogs left inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up or partially open.

In one case, police say someone left their dog inside a 110-degree vehicle at the mall.

Animal Control busted the door open to rescue the dog.

Police say citations cost $100.
