Children take US citizenship oath at BioPark

Children become US citizens at ABQ BioPark

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It was a happy day at the BioPark Aquarium for 14 young immigrants.

They were part of a ceremony where they took the oath to become citizens.

The kids are adopted and belong to Albuquerque families.

Officials say Wednesday’s event was important because immigration doesn’t always get the positive attention it needs.

Some of the children raising their right hands were as young as four and they came from ten countries all around the world. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
