Crews respond to early-morning house fire

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Firefighters responded to a fire early Tuesday morning at a house on Texas Street near Menaul and Wyoming.

Smoke and flames could be seen from the home when crews arrived, and two people were inside. One person was rescued by a firefighter and another escaped out the back door. Both are expected to be OK.

By 6:25 a.m., firefighters had the flames under control.

A downed power line fell near the back of the home which created extra challenges.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
