Sandoval County issues fireworks ban

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Sandoval County Commissioners have voted to ban fireworks in unincorporated areas of the county.

The order bans the sale and use of missile-type rockets, helicopters, aerial spinners and sparkling and smoking fireworks whether they burn on the ground or are held in a person’s hand.

The ban will remain in effect until July 9.

Violators face up to a $300 fine and even jail time.
