Mark’s Monday Evening Weather Report

After a wild and very dangerous weather weekend things are starting to calm down to begin this work week. The strong storms which went across eastern New Mexico are now gone replaced by mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will top out in the high 80s and low 90s over the next couple of days.

The big-time warm-up will be saved for southeastern New Mexico. Temperatures there will top out over 100° on Wednesday. Only to cool down by Thursday thanks to a cold front. The possibility of a couple showers exists for the northeast.

We will dry back out again by Friday and into the weekend. Temperatures once again be in the 90s in most areas of the state. This should be the core of fire season across most of New Mexico. But to this point we’ve avoided any major fires. Let’s hope that continues. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
