Police: NM man had 59 pot plants in yard

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Deputies say they found 59 marijuana plants growing in a New Mexico man’s yard.

Friday, detectives from several agencies including BCSO, DEA, APD and SCSO arrested Hector Guerrero in his Sandia Park home.

Deputies say the plants ranged in size from one to four feet tall.

According to a criminal complaint, Guerrero had a whole rig set up, with a green house and a water system along with a digital scale.

Guerrero told deputies he started growing the plants in January.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute.
